Thursday Night Football this week brings us the New York Giants @ The New England Patriots. At the start of the season, I was very invested in this matchup for a couple of reasons, 1: It was a potential rematch between Tom Brady and Eli Manning and 2: Getting to see Saquon Barkley at Foxboro. However it looks like neither of these will take place this Thursday under the lights.

Season so Far

New York Giants

The Giants after week 5 find themselves 2-3 and in a much better position than this time last year. However, after 2 weeks of the 2019 season, it looked like it was going to be the same story with the giants being 0-2 and really not looking like that they were going to win a game anytime soon. Step up Daniel jones, Jones the 6th pick overall in this year’s draft started the season as the backup QB, until Eli Mannings incompetence finally cost him his starting role.

In Jones 3 starts f his young carer so far, the giants are 2-1, Jones himself has thrown 4 touchdown passes but also thrown 3 interceptions. His first appliance against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was a real eye-opener for the league where jones was, 23/36, 336 yards and 2 Tds. Jones has also played most of his 3 games without the Giants star man Saquon Barkley, Barkley got injured in Jone’s first start with a high ankle sprain. It really won’t get any easier for Jones and the Giants this Thursday as they play the undefeated Patriots.

New England Patriots

The Patriots so far this season are 5-0 and have yet to really be tested. The Pats have played the steelers, dolphins, jets, bills and the Redskins with these teams only winning 5 out of a possible 23 games and the Buffalo Bills have won 4 of those. In the 5 games played the Pats have scored 155 points while only conceding 34 and they have yet to concede a passing Touchdown.

The Patriots D is really something special this year, they have even nicknamed themselves the Bogeymen, Daniel Jones and the Giants will have to be at their Complete best to stop this Terrifying defense giving them nightmares for a long time to come.

Now I can’t go through a preview without mentioning the GOAT. in the 5 matches played so far Tom Brady has recorded 10 TD’s and only 2 interceptions, Brady now 42 is still not showing any signs of slowing down, the only problem with Brady and the offense this year is the injury’s that are starting to mount up to receiving core.

Match Predictions

I really can’t see any other result that a Home win on Thursday night. I believe the Patriots will be to strong all round for the Giants. I think we will see a big improvement from the New England running back Sony Michel, I predict Michel to bag 100+ running yards and 2 TD’s in what could be a wet evening in Foxboro. I also think the Pats D will keep their historic start of the season going with another dominating display against a depleted Giants offense.

SCORE PREDICTION: Giants 6 Patriots 35
