This weeks Monday night Raw saw countless WWE legends return to the red brand and a WWE Championship match was set for Summerslam on last night’s Smackdown.
Hall of Famers takeover Raw
A who’s who of the WWE Hall of Fame was present at the Raw Reunion and were involved many of the night’s talking points. Mick Foley was the next victim of Bray Wyatt’s ‘Fiend’ character as he choked out Foley with his own patterned Mandible Claw. Elsewhere, many legends managed to capture the WWE 24/7 Championship, legends like Pat Patterson, Candice Michelle, Kelly Kelly and other old stars. Finally, the night ended with Stone Cold Steve Austin addressing the crowd with a plethora of WWE legends alongside him. Monday night Raw was an entertaining show full of nostalgia.
Kingston and Orton set to battle at Summerslam
After Kofi Kingston was pinned last week by the master of the RKO, Randy Orton, Kingston this week challenged Orton to a WWE Championship match at Summerslam, which he happily accepted. Kingston accused The Viper of using his influence to hold back Kingston after their feud in 2009, and I think that including that real-life innuendo to this feud brings an interesting element to it, and at this point, I couldn’t pick a winner.
Balor wants The Fiend
Finn Balor felt he had a score to settle with Bray Wyatt after he attacked Balor on last week’s Raw, and therefore challenged Wyatt to a match at Summerslam, despite the clear fear in his voice. Bray Wyatt’s Firefly Funhouse persona accepted the match on behalf of The Fiend, and warned Balor that The Fiend is an abomination. With the strong rumour circulating that Balor will be taking some time off after Summerslam, it seems The Fiend will be winning this one.
McMahon and Owens to clash once again
Kevin Owens has aired quite a few grievances about Shane McMahon over the last few weeks, whether it’s on a live mic or through the medium of social media, and it was on Twitter where he issued a challenge McMahon to a bout at Summerslam, and even said he would quit WWE if he lost, so I wouldn’t be surprised if an ‘I Quit’ stipulation was added to this match before August 11th.
